Social Learning for your Home Learner
Around the age of 11, I have found that children start to yearn for their peers and to learn from eachother. They are expanding their world outside of their parental unit and home looking for more. Every learner is unique in who they are, what lights them up, how they see the world. We have no idea what their future will be like and what skills they will need in that future. We as parents of course want to set our learners up with the skills we think they need to have as we want a life of ease and success, for them to be happy. Too often we parents can get worried that they are behind, or are off track. Instead take charge and make yourself a plan.... and while you are at it facilitate your learner to make themselves a plan. Taking time aside to think of all the things you love to do or want to explore and learn really ignites something and then having a plan reminds them of this.
